SALTAF HISTORY

SALTAF began in 2000 as a medium for discussion of the South Asian Diaspora. This discussion has since grown into a yearly celebration of South Asian creative talent. The festival has established itself as one of the premiere showcases for South Asian themed literary works and theater arts appreciation nationwide.

SALTAF provides authors, playwrights, literary and theatre professionals the opportunity to interact with their audience. Bibliophiles, cinema fans and young professionals can explore the creative process with professional artists and discover outlets for their own creative aspirations.

In 2003, SALTAF introduced a theater segment into the festival which included a series of one-act plays written, directed, produced, and performed by local talent from the South Asian Theater Arts Guild Experiment (STAGE). This year, we are adding a film portion including a feature film screening along with a film and theater panel.
